I handle a lot of motors, likely more in a day than some racers do in a year. This doesn’t even include the multiple disassembly and reassembly needed for trying new setups and customer motors.
An essential tool for working with 540-sized 2-pole motors (the standard in 1/10th scale racing) is one that helps remove and install the rotor. The magnets are so strong that you’ll discover new levels of profanity just trying to take a rotor out, let alone putting it back in! And you’ll need to do it several times to get the shim pack just right.
