Custom Works Outlaw 4 Droop Screws and Front Wing Brace Kit

Custom Works Outlaw 4 sprint cars have turned out to be very capable and competitive cars in dirt oval. Well engineered and durable. But it needs a quick and easy track side adjustment to control the front droop.

From the fertile engineering mind of Ron Free (Rocket Products) comes the Custom Works Outlaw 4 Droop and Front Wing brace. Ron tested a variety materials, placement and designs until this part evolved into this final version. Track tested for three months has proven it effective and rugged in many races.

'Droop' is a great feature to have, but will not correct a poorly setup car. Once the car feels good (the setup from the manufacturer is a great place to start), then getting that last bit of speed can be had with small adjustments at trackside. In the picture below, the red arrow is pointing to the large headed screw (provided in kit) on which the front A-arms rest when fully extended. This screw is the droop control system (one screw for each arm), and is accessible from the top of the car with a long 2mm hex driver (you do not have to roll the car upside down for access) making easy, quick adjustments during hot laps.

Realize this part is at the front of the car and in crash scenarios, many times is the first to take the impact. Ron tested many materials to find one rigid enough for accuracy and still flexible enough to absorb the punishment when things go wrong. Aluminum could be used, but in a crash, the carbon fiber plate is damaged, so it is far less work to just replace the brackets. Make sure you have spares in case it breaks during your race weekend, they are not indestructable, especially hitting the wall at full trot!

The full kit consists of one left and one right support, two screws, drill guide plate, and install drawing. You may also select individual parts as spares. May work with other Custom Works Outlaw cars but is tested and fitted for Outlaw 4.
